“ With the start of a new
academic year
the Diocese of Pittsburgh welcomes nine new seminarians to St. Paul
Seminary,
bringing the total to thirty four(34) seminarians in the Diocese. There are a total of 19 at St. Paul’s; four at St. Vincent; four at the Theological
College in Washington, DC and seven at the Pontifical North American
College in
Rome. This is the highest
number of Pittsburgh Seminarians in over ten years, which shows the
commitment
that Bishop David Zubik has made to increase the number of seminarians
and
future priests for our diocese. We are asking all Councils, Assemblies, Circles and Chapters to please make an increased effort to support all of our seminarians. We have recently heard from young priests who have been ordained in recent years of just how much the Knights of Columbus support meant to them as they went through their seminary years. All vocations support information can be found in the attachments herein and additional information can be found n the Vocations Chairman’s manual in the Surge with Service packet. Details of the RSVP program are listed in the pamphlet #4688 6/06. Vivat Jesus,
