  Pittsburgh Knights Observe "Year for Priests"

The Knights of Columbus of the Pittsburgh Chapter observed "The Year for Priests" by
exemplifying a special 1st Degree of the Order on Sunday, December 6th at St. Paul Seminary.  The 1st Degree team from St. Francis of Assisi Council #2555 conducted the degree in honor of  Most Reverend David A. Zubik by inducting four seminarians into the Knights of Columbus.

Seminarian, Sir Knight David G. Rombold of Sacred Heart Parish in Ellwood City coordinated the degree for the Year for Priests.

At the conclusion of the degree, Past State Deputy, Joseph A. Cummings, the Pittsburgh Diocesan Vocations Support Coordinator for the Knights of Columbus, presented Bishop Zubik with the Honoree's scroll including the names of the seminarians receiving the degree.

Bishop Zubik accepted the scroll in the name of all priests of the Diocese of Pittsburgh and in thanking the Knights of Columbus he emphasized the many good works that the knights do for the diocese especially as it relates to the promotion of vocations fofr the priesthood.

Together Bishop Zubik and PSD Cummings then presented degree certificates to each of thefour seminarians; Andrew Cypher of St. John's parish in Coylesville; Jeremy Mohler of Sacred Heart parish, Shadyside; Anthony Sciarappa of Sts John & Paul Parish, Franklin Park; and William Wuenschel of Holy Angels parish, Hays.
